Program Overview
Trailblazer + ProtoZone
Looking for individuals/companies with an innovative idea that is scalable or looking to manufacture a product in the region. Must be coachable, willing to engage with customers, and fully committed to moving their idea forward. The full course is 4 sessions in total and each week builds on the previous week.
Participants who successfully complete the Trailblazer + ProtoZone program and have an innovative business or manufacturing a product in Northwestern Ontario can apply to the Next Level funding which will cover up to 50% funding, up to $20,000 in assistance towards approved costs in the eligible categories.
Applicant Eligibility
- Must live in Northwestern Ontario
- Have a business idea with a product that will be manufactured in Northwestern Ontario

Who can participate in the Trailblazer + ProtoZone program?
The Trailblazer + ProtoZone program is for people who live in Northwestern Ontario and have a business idea that involves manufacturing a product.
Is the Trailblazer + ProtoZone virtual?
No. Trailblazer + ProtoZone is best delivered in person. However, if you live outside of Thunder Bay you can request a virtual session. Please note that the Innovation Centre requires 4 participants to run the program.
How much does the Trailblazer + ProtoZone costs?
$25.00 plus tax.
