To be With funding through FedNor, the Sustainable New Agri-Food Products and Productivity (SNAPP) Program is an initiative of the Rural Agri-Innovation Network (RAIN), a division of the Sault Ste Marie Innovation Centre in partnership with the Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance and the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre.

Eligible individual applicants can receive up to $10,000 at 50% cost-share.
Collaborations of 3 or more applicants can receive up to $25,000 at 50% cost-share.

Applications must be submitted by January 10, 2025. However, we suggest reaching out at least two weeks in advance to get started.

To purchase equipment exceeding $1000,  you need to submit at least two (ideally three) quotations from different vendors with your application.

SNAPP application funding may be stacked with other funding sources up to a maximum of 75% of the total project cost. However, stacking with other funding sources from FedNor is not permitted.

A copy of your Articles of Incorporation, Farm Business Registration No., Master Business License, or Business Name Registration is required to be submitted along with your application.

Yes. Startups are eligible for SNAPP. However, you need to submit a completed business plan along with a 12-month financial forecast for your business. 

With two other collaborators, you can submit an application and potentially receive up to $25,000 at 50%  cost-sharing. However, you are required to submit a copy of a written collaborative agreement along with letters of support from all collaborating parties in addition to other documents.
