Program Overview
Rural Innovation Fund (RIF)
This program supports rural and Indigenous communities in Northwestern Ontario with a population of less than 3000 people to adopt innovative approaches to identified gaps within their communities. Entrepreneurs located in these communities can also apply.
This program will fund up to a maximum of $10,000 per project with a 90% cost share
Applicant Eligibility
- Businesses, not-for-profits, and communities are eligible to apply
- Must be based in Northwestern Ontario in a community with less than 3000 people
Eligible expenses include activites related to addressing gaps in:
- Housing, Food Security, Energy Sustainability, Information Technology
- Industry Capacity
- Entrepreneurial Capacity
- Feasibility studies
